Parasols of blossoms

drop

tears of petals

that

drip damp

cold kisses

onto my cheek.

The sun's rays flare up,

flinging light

onto God's creation.

Its orange glow,

breathes hope and

blooms into day

The day stretches out

into the same shifting patterns as

nighttime crawls wearily toward me.

Soon darkness suffocates the world

of shape and colour.

I close my eyes to sleep,

and slap

my thoughts

return

like a thousand

falling leaves.
